Dating from the late eighteenth century, this lovely planter is from Tournac (and is a very similar design to planters from Castelnaudary). It was originally used for planting citrus, hence the handles for carrying the plant indoors over winter. The unusual detail is the mask decoration. It is very rustic with chips around the base in particular.
Heavy wear and rustic condition consistent with age and use.
