This is aCeremonial Prayer Gourd Bowl with sacred spiritual symbols to the Huichol people.This colorful pieceis full of tradition and culture as it is decoratedin a traditional method.Spiritual prayer bowls are carried by the Shaman leaders in religious ceremonies and it is thought that power and strength is given to those that hold it.The tiny chaquira, or seed beads, are applied by coating the surface of a carving or bowl with a beeswax mixture called campeche. The beads are then applied one by one using a needle. The vision of the artist comes to life as the beads are applied.
